Classic Space seems to be taking over the online Lego Community of late. We’ve had classic space hot rods, even classic space muscle cars, and today we can add another three tenuous links back to the smiling spacemen of the 1980s to this list.
First up, and the least odd of today’s trio, is this mega Mobile Lunar Base by Flickr’s Benjamin Corey. It’s got Technic Power Functions motors inside so it can trundle about in a very classic spacey way, although luckily for our Elves it’s one RC creation that’s too slow to mow them down. The second of today’s classic space creations comes from recent bloggee Tim Henderson, who has decided that what classic spacemen really need in the vacuum of space is an air-breathing V8-engined ‘gasser’ hot rod. It might not be logical, but it’s damn cool! There’s more to see on Flickr via the link above.
The final model in our classic space trio comes from Gerald F of MOCpages. Gerald’s smiling classic spaceman seems to have taken a wormhole into a parallel universe, emerging at the helm of his very own classic space Star Wars podracer.

We often post old-timey vehicles here at TLCB, but it’s a rare treat when we can post old-timey vehicles that have been built in an old-timey way!
These charming 6-wide Town vehicles were discovered by… er, The Brothers Brick*, and are the work of Flickr’s grubaluk. There are lots more photos of the individual models available to view on Flickr – simply click the link above to make the jump.
*Our Elves have been sternly reprimanded, the lazy turds.
The arrival of the Ford Mustang in Europe from 2015 is a delightful prospect for all of us here at TLCB. Ford have finally given the Mustang a proper engine too (no, not the outdated V8, the excellent 2.3 litre 300+ bhp 4-cylinder from the Focus RS).
Ford’s previous generation of Mustang was not available in Europe, probably because it would have been comprehensively outclassed by almost everything, but nevertheless it did look fantastic.
Flickr’s -derjoe- has built the 2014 version of Ford’s iconic muscle car in LEGO’s new bright orange, and it looks fantastic too. You can see more of his simple yet wonderfully effective recreation of the outgoing Mustang via the link above.
This gorgeous unpronounceable Russian truck was discovered on Flickr today. It’s been built by Patrick Taylor and you can see more here.
TLCB newcomer Wave Noiz is making his debut here with a pair of stunningly realistic Town excavators. OK, we are miles out of our depth with these two posts, but despite our Steampunk ineptitude we do appreciate a bit of whimsical silliness on a Monday.
Creation no.1 is called ‘The Behemoth’, which seems an accurate title to us, and is the work of Flickr’s captainsmog. There’s more to see of whatever it is at the link.
Creation no.2 is relatively sensible in the world of Steampunk, being a steam-powered plough. These amazing contraptions actually existed, although 6kyubi6‘s invention is a far lovelier thing to behold than the real machines of the early 20th century. There’s more to see at the link above.
Flickr’s piratecox can sure put a LEGO brick to strange use! His latest creation, this enchantingly weird Chevrolet flat-bed transporter and hot rod combo, even features mini-figure arms, rubber bands, and ice-axes in its construction. Click the link above to see more!
This astonishing ship comes from Flickr’s Konajra, who appeared here last week with this, and who has now reconstructed one of the world’s most iconic vessels in Lego form. It is of course, the Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior.
This is Greenpeace’s third Rainbow Warrior ship and the first to be purpose-built for the charity. As you would expect (although certainly not the case with the ship’s predecessors), Rainbow Warrior III is one of the greenest ships afloat – and not just in colour. Launched in 2011 the ship mostly functions as a sailing yacht, with additional hybrid propulsion used when necessary. It dumps no waste water into the ocean and all components have been sustainably sourced where possible. Sounds like a good approach to building any ship to us.
Konajra’s Lego replica of the 190ft Rainbow Warrior III is actually mini-figure scale, which makes it simply enormous. Every conceivable detail has been finely recreated in Danish plastic and Konajra has uploaded a wealth of photography to his Flickr photostream to support the build – click here to visit the ship’s Flickr gallery.

The Lego City Police Department must be fighting a whole new breed of mini-figure criminal these days, judging by the ferocity of their latest vehicles.
Both this Town style helicopter and armoured personal carrier have been enhanced considerably by the addition of some killer third party accessories. Normally we don’t post non-LEGO components here at TLCB, but the examples above compliment the creations superbly.
Suggested by a reader, Andrew Sommers is the builder and you can see more of his police force’s impressive armoury on Flickr.

This gorgeous Tunisian World War 2 oasis airfield scene – complete with a magnificent FW190 fighter – is the work of previous bloggee and aircraft genius Sydag. There’s clever detailing everywhere in this build – click the link above to see all the photos in Sydag’s Flickr gallery.
Spring has sprung here at TLCB Towers. The days are getting longer, skirts are getting shorter, and the Elves are getting, er… frisky. We lose a few Elves every year, mostly to dogs and Elf-on-Elf violence, so this isn’t a bad thing. We’ve got no idea of the biology of it, but their numbers always seem pretty constant.
Anyway, such is the Elves’ mood at the moment that they haven’t really found much worth blogging, so it’s over to you for a find. This neat concept car by previous bloggee Angka Utama was discovered by a reader and you can see more it, including some very clever cockpit construction techniques, on both MOCpages and Flickr.
It’s been a while since we posted anything train-ey, so here’s a neat track-mounted crane from Flickr’s de-marco that’s helping his Town’s mini-figures upgrade their network. See more via the link.

In 2012 Len Wiseman brought us a remake of the cult 1990 science fiction action movie ‘Total Recall’. His modern reboot included some amazing action scenes and several exotic fictional vehicles. Today in 2015 Flickr’s Tiler has created his own remake in LEGO form by building this highly detailed hover car as used in the movie’s chase sequence.
What could be more amazing than taking a ride in an exotic supercar that doesn’t have any wheels!? All of the speed without having to feel the pain of speed bumps or the street flaws! You can take a ride in Tiler’s brilliant Total Recall hover car by visiting him on Flickr.

This gorgeous pair of mini-figure scale London buses comes from TLCB debutant Hung Andy. Whilst his Flickr name does seem more appropriate for the seedier corners of the internet, Hung Andy’s builds are some of the most exceptional Town style vehicles we’ve seen in all of our time blogging.
Two eras of London Routemaster bus are represented, the second of which is only just coming to end with the arrival of the new (and beautiful) hybrid double-decker this year.

LEGO’s Speed Champions series has been warmly received by the online community and we’re starting to see some excellent additions to LEGO’s original line-up. This is one of our favourites, ER0L’s lovely Ferrari 458 Italia. Our Elves almost missed this charming creation from Galaktek, on Flickr. Unusually for a sci-fi build it isn’t covered in guns & missiles and our workforce has a proven penchant for such things. This delivery lorry could easily be from the near future of Lego’s “City” range and features some very neat “wheel” units. Click on this link to see how Galaktek made them.
